The Built-in and mantel started out white, we gave it a multicolored undercoat of reds browns and black and then did the white crackle over it. The cracks then had a subtle color change which gave it some depth .

of antique glazes over the top, gold leafed and antiqued the moldings and gave it a coat of varnish. .
